NCFE CACHE LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT FOR ADULT CARE

This qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills needed to manage, practise and lead others in adult care provision. Learners will acquire and use skills of leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection through work-based learning opportunities-As a leader in adult care, the learner will become an important role model for others, inspiring staff and raising aspirations. Learners will be able to respond to drivers in adult care through strong leadership, values base, innovation, and business insight.

NCFE LEVEL 4 AWARD IN UNDERSTANDING THE INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE OF ASSESSMENT PROCESSES AND PRACTICE

This qualification is for learners aged 19 and above.

This qualification is intended for those who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of internal quality assurance without any requirement to practice.

NCFE CACHE LEVEL 4 DIPLOMA IN ADULT CARE

This qualification will support learners to develop specialist knowledge and skills in their area of responsibility and enable learners to promote a values-based culture within their setting.
This qualification can act as a progression route from the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care qualification to the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care qualification.
The qualification also aligns to the Apprenticeship Standard for Lead Practitioner in Adult Care.

NCFE LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE IN ASSESSING VOCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT

This qualification is for learners aged 19 and above.

This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment)

NCFE CACHE LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN ADULT CARE

This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in a lead adult care worker role in care settings. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health and social care procedures. This qualification also aligns to the Apprenticeship Standard for Lead Adult Care Worker.

NCFE CACHE LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA IN CARE

This qualification will support learners to develop the knowledge and skills required to work in a range of clinical healthcare support settings and in adult care environments.

The qualification is formed of mandatory and optional units. The mandatory units cover core competencies while the optional units allow learners to choose from a variety of areas to tailor the qualification to their needs, interests and to reflect the context of their work.

It covers a wide range of areas including dementia awareness, mental health and well-being, supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and healthcare procedures.

The content is also aligned with the knowledge and skills required for the Adult Care Worker and Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship standards.

NCFE CACHE LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN PRINCIPLES OF WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES

This qualification aims to give learners knowledge and understanding to work with individuals with learning disabilities or difficulties. They will explore the principles of safeguarding and positive risk-taking and gain awareness of the autistic spectrum.

NCFE CACHE LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN COMMON HEALTH CONDITIONS

This qualification aims to develop the learner’s knowledge and understanding of:

  • various common health conditions
  • monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions.

The purpose of this qualification is to give learners currently working in, or intending to work in, adult health and social care an awareness of a range of common health conditions. Learners may then progress to additional qualifications to gain a more in-depth understanding of specific health conditions.

NCFE CACHE LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN THE PRINCIPLES OF END OF LIFE CARE

This qualification aims to develop the learner’s knowledge and understanding of:

  • how to work in end of life care
  • the support needed to manage pain and discomfort
  • how dementia impacts on end of life care
  • the role of the care worker in time of death
  • the loss and grief process.

NCFE CACHE LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN UNDERSTANDING THE SAFE HANDLING OF MEDICATION IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE

This qualification aims to help learners develop:

  • a general understanding of different types of medication and their use
  • knowledge of the procedures for obtaining, storing, administering and disposing of medication
  • an understanding of legislation and the audit process related to medication and issues of responsibility and accountability
  • an understanding of the record-keeping process for medication.

This is a knowledge-based qualification; achievement will not allow learners to be considered occupationally competent in the administration of medication.
