This course is expected to start on the 1st September 2018. On successful completion you will be able to understand how a higher apprenticeship can support an employer meet increasing skills needs through an employment route. Mapping skills within an organisational development plan could form part of the longer term working relationship with employers. The leader in adult care will be a leader of the care team and will develop and implement a values-based culture at a service or unit level. You will be responsible for business development, financial control, organisational resilience and continuity as well as managing risk and leading on organisational changes. The 6C’s are expected of you as a Leader in adult care – care, compassion, courage, communication, competence and commitment. For staff who had completed the common induction standard prior the launch of the care certificate, the employer will judge gaps that need to be met in the additional standards in the care certificate. Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior completion of their apprenticeship.
Duration – 18 months
On completion of the apprenticeship standards, each apprentice will be prepared for the gateway assessment after which an end-point assessment will be done by an End Point Assessor that has no link with the training provider.
Non- Apprenticeship Route(Stand Alone) –
The same qualification for the apprenticeship standards apply to the four stratum of the care profession starting from adult care worker to leader in adult care with the exception of not doing functional skills in English and maths as well as End-Point Assessment.
- Manager/Advanced Practitioner in Adult Care will achieve Level 5 Diploma in leadership for health and social care and children and young people’s services (England) -Duration- 12months
