Health and safety

Safety Awareness:
This course is the subject on the basic requirements of health and safety as a start in any workplace. It covers the likes of the law, the regulations on Risk Assessments, CoSHH Assessments, Workplace and Housekeeping, Work Equipment, Electricity, First Aid, Fire Safety, PPE, Display Screen Equipment and Manual Handling. Throughout the course duration it is open to question and answers from the group.

Risk Assessment:
This course covers the subject on how to carry out a risk assessment with a small introduction on the law around risk assessments. The risk assessment process encompasses the risks of the Workplace and Housekeeping, Work Equipment, Electricity, First Aid, Fire Safety, PPE, Display Screen Equipment and Manual Handling. It is also interactive on Risk Assessments so that the group carry out at least this process. At least 5 risk assessments are carried out with the group on their choice.

Fire Safety Awareness:
This covers fire safety that include how fires start, fire alarm systems, signage, fire detection, fire assembly points, evacuation routes, procedures, emergency lighting, fire procedures, fire plans, fire extinguishers and use of, combustible materials, flammable liquids, ignition sources.

A question and answer paper is completed with the group at the end.
